I spent the weekend in Calistoga (in the Napa Valley) with my mother and my mother-in-law. I'm blessed to have a wonderful relationship and friendship with both of them. Hubs was in San Diego with my Dad (aka his father-in-law) and my brother (aka his brother-in-law) scuba diving on shipwrecks off the coast.
In Calistoga, we stayed at this place that included a spa. The first day we had mud baths (weird, but sooooo nice!!), the second day we had hour massages, and the third day we had herbal facials! Talk about being pampered. We also went wine tasting and ate delicious food. It was a great trip, but I really really missed my husband. We hadn't been apart that long since about 3-4 years ago. (And it's not happening again! *lol*)
Here are some photos from my trip:
Part of Downtown Calistoga.
Funny guy selling stuff from his bike.
The tram that took us up to Sterling winery.
Amazing view from the tram.
Wine getting yummy!
Mom, me, & Mother-In-Law
Me and my tights. lol.
The view from the winery!
Our tasting menu.
My dinner at this super-yummy restaurant. Pesto mashed potatoes!
We played yahtzee in the room and I actually got a yahtzee! See??
Our sparkling wine tasting at Mumm Napa.
The view from where we were tasting.
Frosted-over champagne in its first fermentation. This 45 minute guided tour was REALLY interesting.
Hubs and I spent Halloween night in at home watching the Sharks beat the Panthers 2-1!! We had just a few trick or treaters and ended up with a half bag of left-over candy (of which only a small amount is still left *oops!*)
Earlier in the evening, we finally carved our pumpkins!
Here's Jason's:
Here's Mine:
About a week earlier, we had hubby's mom and her significant other, Scott, over for dinner. For desert I made a low cal Trader Joe's pumpkin brownies. And I used pumpkin to make a monogram of our last name. *lol* I'm a nerd, I know. We ate them with slow churned pumpkin ice cream. Anyway, here's the proof.
I left this blog hanging didn't I?! I promise that this will be ending very soon. Things have been a little crazy including a big office move. I'll be updating with a multitude of photos very soon... So stay tuned! I haven't forgotten about you!
For my book club this month, we are reading "Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert.
I'm really enjoying it and reccommend it to anyone looking for a good read!
On a side note: I have dropped my classes for this quarter since work is super crazy and this quarter runs into the holidays. So I'm taking this time as my summer break since I did classes all through my real summer.
My office is moving soon! At first, we will have a temporary set-up with partitions, but eventually we will be having walls build and 3 offices constructed. They will look something like this:

I'm so stoked to be going from a cubicle to a real office!! :) :) Stay tuned for updates and construction play-by-play. *lol*
