Tree & Puffs

I took this video this morning while M was eating her breakfast (Peach Yogurt!)

She can now sign "Tree" and "Puff."

Tree is the one that looks like a wave. I think she might have been signing this one longer, but we thought she was waving. This morning I realized she was signing when she paired it with pointing to the tree and making the "T" sound you hear in the video! (And yes, the real sign for tree looks an awful lot like a wave. This is starting to get confusing and I can see where "Baby Sign" instead of ASL could be useful.)

Christmas Buildup

First step toward getting ready for Christmas? Advent Calendar. It's December!!

Next? Christmas tree! Here we are picking one out:

And, um, getting it home! Jason decided it would be easier to just walk with it than dealing with tying it to our car. The Home Depot we bought this beauty from is about a block away. I still find the whole thing hilarious.

Thanksgiving 2009

We started the day by snuggling up on the couch in our jammies to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Madison loved it and kept waving to the TV since all the people on the floats were waving at her!

After her second nap, we headed over to Maddie's Nonni's house for a huge T-Day dinner with Grandparents Fisher, Uncle Alex, and Nonni. We all made WAY TOO MUCH amazingly delicious food and had a great dinner.

Madison had her own specially prepared home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner. It consisted of turkey with misc winter squash, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, and a Maddie-sized pumpkin pie for dessert. I made the crust out of oatmeal and the filling was pureed pumpkin with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Did I mention I went a little too heavy on the cinnamon in Mads' pumpkin pie? Her reaction is PRICELESS. Yes, she actually shuddered. Oops!

We are particularly thankful this year and it was really nice to spend the day reflecting. Oh and we're also thankful for the Cowboys' win! ;)

However, the wind was a little mean and got Madison a little too face-to-face with nature.

Maybe I should post the video I took of Jason running around the park collecting fallen leaves for our little photo shoot? lol.

10 Months

I have a confession: I'm writing this post WAY WAY past the day she turned 10 months (November 16th.) It's HARD keeping up with a blog and the guilt I feel for falling behind is surprisingly STRONG. :( I'm hoping to stay more on top in the future.

And now... back to our post!

- As of Nov 3rd, she can full on army crawl! She's starting to pick up speed and is officially MOBILE! Watch out, world!
- Worst teething ever on Nov 8th combined w/ separation anxiety. At least, we think that's what it was! That 7th tooth never showed and she still has just the 6 teeth she's had. Whatever it was caused her LOTS of distress and I ended up sleeping on an Aero Bed in her room with her in my arms. We both barely slept since she isn't used to co-sleeping anymore, but it was our only choice due to her FREAKING OUT if we left her in her crib. Thankfully that fun little phase passed in a few days.
- Still same size everything. I don't think she's grown too much at all. (No official measurements to share.)
- Schedule is exactly the same as last month.
- Mads waves at everyone and everything lately!! It's so adorable to be out in public, she'll make eye contact with someone, and then she'll smile and wave. Some people get SO happy! It makes me proud of her that she can brighten someone's day like that. She also waves if you just say "Hiiii" or "Bye Bye." She also starts clapping if you just say, "Yaaaaay!"
- (Note: Some month 10 stuff has been merged in with month 11.)

"I Love You" From Mommy

Dear Madison,

I love you.

I love the extra roll of chub around your thighs.
The way you giggle and squirm when I tickle your back.
I love how your face lights up when I walk into the room.
The way to babble entire conversations.
How you turn the pages of your books.
And how you always skip the boring black and white pages in 'Goodnight Moon."
I love the dimples that frame your brilliant smile.
The way you say, "mama."
And the way that your hair smells.
I love when you lay your head on my shoulder when you're sleepy.
And the sound of your belly laugh when we play.
How your tummy sticks out after a big meal.
I love the look on your face when you see other babies/kids.
That sometimes I'm the only person in the world that you want.
I love the way you stroke my hair while you nurse.
And how you twitch in your sleep.

I love you more than I could ever explain.

- Mommy

Goodnight Moon

One of my favorite parts of the day is snuggling up with Madison to read "Goodnight Moon" right before bedtime.

Here is a video of about half our read. Note that she usually skips right over the black and white pages (unless it's the one with the kitty close-up!)

She's Officially Mobile!

Today Madison started full-on army crawling!! I can't believe we actually have a mobile baby now.

And I have the video to prove it.

Time to finish baby-proofing because she's into everything now!
